The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro have finally been announced, after months of speculation and a fair few leaks along the way.
The new phones boast cutting-edge features, such as a four-camera array on the more powerful P30 Pro, which includes a 40MP sensor.
The powerful Kirin 980 chipset is the engine inside, and both phones use an OLED display to bring bright images right into your eyes.
The P30 brings a 6.47-inch OLED display to the market, although it's only Full HD, and the P30 offers a 6.1-inch option, using the same tech and resolution.
Its in the cameras that Huawei is hoping to offer the most differentiation though, with the Huawei P30 Pro bringing the most adavnced technology.
Along with a Time of Flight range sensor, designed for better image depth perception, there's a 'standard' 40MP sensor, a 20MP wide angle lens and and 8MP 'periscope' sensor which can magnify up to five times.
The P30 has just three cameras, shedding the ToF option, but brings a similar photographical experience.
The Huawei P30 Pro offers a battery with 4250mAh capacity, where the smalled P30 comes with a 3650mAh offering.
The former phone also comes with a 40W charger, which means you can juice this handset from dead to 70% in just 30 minutes - it'll also support 15W wireless charging and can power other phones too, just like the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus.
We're still waiting on official Huawei P30 and P30 Pro price and release date information, but we'll be updating our stories with just that information as soon as we can.
A FreeLace lifestyle
Announced alongside the Huawei P30 range of phones was the Huawei Freelace, wireless earphones which connects with your P30 or P30 Pro via USB-C to easily set up and charge.
One of its unique selling points is its wind noise reduction feature, which uses an algorithm to pick up and filter out the noise of the wind when you’re outside.
It’s made of memory metal cable and liquid silicone, so it has a distinct ‘sports’ feel, and comes in four colors – black, ‘amber sunrise’, ‘emerald green’ and silver.
The Freelace contains magnets in the buds, so when not in use you can separate or re-attach the buds to easily answer or end calls, or play or pause music – there’s also a function bar so you can skip songs, activate the voice assistant, and ignore calls.
